Project fairs are regional events hosted annually by Rotary districts worldwide to encourage international friendship and collaboration on international service projects. They provide an opportunity for a number of Rotary clubs in the host districts to exhibit and offer their projects, and for international visitors to meet local project coordinators to find a project that matches their club’s goals and interest. Attendees convene for two to three days to share their interests or concerns, discuss ideas, and establish partnerships.
 A project fair is a great place to learn about a whole host of projects and service opportunities and to start building Rotary relationships. You can expect a well-organized event that offers arrangements for hotel accommodations and local transportation. A registration fee is common and may include some meals. Sufficient time is generally available for visitors to meet with the project sponsoring Rotarians and to discuss their projects in detail.  Generally this will be in the language of the attendee.
 Project Fairs generally include a number of opportunities for:
  • Round Table discussions where attendees can share their project experiences.  The topics vary and may include, water and sanitation, microcredit, Rotary Foundation Grants, or project evaluation.
  • Project site visits for participants may be arranged to experience local projects first hand.
  • Hosted daily fellowship activities such as luncheons, cultural shows, home hospitality, and dinners.
  • Optional tours for participants following the project fair accompanied by local Rotarians to tour the area to be acquainted with local sights, points of interest, and local culture.
