THE ROTARY FOUNDATION: ENDOWMENT FUND

The Bequest and Legacy Societies

"Doing Good In The World" is the motto of The Rotary Foundation, which was conceived by Rotarian Arch Klumph. The Bequest Society was established to recognize our support for the Endowment Fund of The Rotary Foundation through bequests - gifts at death. The Bequest Society's growing membership includes Rotarians, family members, and friends who have each committed to give $10,000 or more in their estate plans to The Endowment Fund of The Rotary Foundation. The Legacy Society recognizes individuals and couples who have substantiated a future give to the Endowment Fund of $1,000,000 or more.

Since its inception in 1928, The Rotary Foundation has stayed true to its original purpose of "doing good in the world." From its modest beginnings, The Rotary Foundation Endowment Fund has grown to an endowment of over $1.3 billion, which produces over $17.5 million in spendable earnings each year to support The Rotary Foundation's annual programs.

Today, The Rotary Foundation has an even bigger dream: To increase the Endowment Fund endowment to $2.025  billion by the year 2025. Gifts to the Endowment Fund are a powerful way to ensure our life changing work continues in perpetuity. Donors may choose how to direct their portion of spendable earnings: Endowment SHARE which returns funds to our District each year as DDF, Areas of Focus, World Fund (area of greatest need), Rotary Peace Centers and for larger gives, endowed Global Grants.

As a Bequest Society Member, you will enjoy the benefits of:
